A unique vestige from the past but common in the days before speakers at stadiums, we bring you "The Stadium Announcer". Before the start of Major League Baseball games a man would stand at home plate with a giant megaphone and the lineups for that day and announce them to the crowd. It is amazing to think that his voice would carry loud enough to be heard by all, but such was the technology of the day. The offered image captures "Red" Manning with lineups in hand barking the orders for "Opening Day" in Cleveland for his beloved Indians. Photograph is large and detailed and condition is beautiful. Very few images of the stadium announcers from any team were ever taken and even less have survived!
