Large 1938 portrait photograph of young St. Louis Cardinals Hall of Famer Enos Slaughter in full uniform and taken by famed photographer George Burke. While the image is identified on the back as being from 1939, it is actually a 1938 documented image in part because there is no patch on the sleeve and the image has been found in publication from the 1938 season. Concise and bold, this is a large format for Burke and it displays well despite some handling wear from use in the files of the Sporting News.
