Wilbert Robinson led one of the most interesting baseball lives ever. A star catcher from the 1880's he was pictured in the Old Judge baseball card set as a youngster. He moved on to the Baltimore Orioles where he achieved superstar status along with John McGraw and Willie Keeler as one of the best teams of all time. When it seemed his days were over on the diamond he opened a sports bar and made the unlikely shift to Manager where he also achieved great success. Seen here, the rotund manager of the Brooklyn Dodgers is in full uniform and all smiles after bringing the Dodgers their first pennant in sixteen years! Detailed and bold this is from the archives of Underwood and Underwood and presents in almost perfect condition. Easily one of the best images of Wilbert Robinson from the Dodgers that we have seen.
