During the intense pennant race of 1946 (and before television and social media) fans had to sit around and wait for word of the other games across the country to see their fate. After a game between the Dodgers and the Braves in which the Dodgers lost, the fans at Ebbets field crowded the field to watch the scoreboard and find out the result of the Cardinals game. While the Cardinals would lose this day as well, they would end up taking the pennant from the Dodgers and crush the dreams of all those in this rare photo. A bold and beautiful image in nice shape overall with some light crazing to the surface being the only flaw. Issued by Acme and with a full paper caption on the back.
