Of all the silent films ever produced, the 1925 epic "The Lost World" is one of the most important ever released. The offered studio photograph from 1924 shows the producer of the film, Watterson Rothacker, as he signs the man who wrote the book, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, to a contract for the film. A rare Hollywood studio photograph from before filming began, this is the only example we have ever seen. There is some creasing at the left and a small rip at the bottom, but it presents better than the technical grade. An important moment in film history and offered here for the first time ever, fresh out of an archive.
