1919 Photograph of Christy Mathewson, back from WWI but feeling the effects of being gassed, as he was reunited with his friend John McGraw during spring training with the Giants. Mathewson was fighting to regain his health, but would die just four years later from the effects of Mustard Gas on his lungs. A triumphant image at the time that has gone down in history as a tragic reminder of Mathewson's service. The photo is in nice shape and bears the stamp of the International News on the back.
