1930's Studio photograph of early National Football League superstar Paul Robeson. By this time in his life he had completely transformed himself into one of the biggest stars of the stage. Issued by the studio, this is one of the earliest photos of Robeson we have seen and it sadly portrays the superstar in a racially charged stereotypical role as a "native." Condition is beautiful and the quality is very nice.
