1923 Extremely rare photograph of famous actress Sarah Bernhardt as she chatted with her director Leon Abrams on set of a silent film. She was desperately ill but wanted to make one final picture before she died. A film studio was set up in her home to accommodate the situation which is where we see her here. She is wearing dark glasses to protect her eyes from the intense Hollywood lights, but she was able to finish for the most part before dying at the end of production. This is the last photograph ever taken of the iconic actress and it is noted as such on the back paper caption. Issued by the International News and stamped on the back with a full paper caption as well, this is an important piece of history that is extremely rare and represents the only example we know of in the world!
