1925 Extremely rare photograph of speed skater Clas Thunberg as he crosses the finish line in a championship event in Newburgh. He had just come off the initial 1924 Olympic Games in which he won three gold medals as well as a silver and bronze (5 medals in one game) and was set to win two more gold medals in 1928 for a total of SEVEN speedskating medals! An underrated Olympic pioneer, this is the only image of Thunberg we have ever handled and it presents beautifully. Issued by Wide World Photos and stamped on the back with a full paper caption as well, the photo grades almost perfect.
