Rare 1921 photograph of early women's golf superstar Alexa Sterling as she takes on a British course for the first time. The image shows Sterling as she drives off the tee at Hoylake in Liverpool. Silver gelatin photograph is in great condition and with paper caption on the back describing the action. Sterling was a major draw and was to women's golf at the time what Bobby Jones was to men's golf (the two even toured together throughout World War I). This is the only example of this image we have ever seen and it grades almost perfect.
