1953 Large portrait style photograph of Kansas City Blues star Elston Howard in uniform. Taken two years before he would break the color barrier with the Yankees and become one of the best catchers in baseball, this is a new discovery from a newspaper archive that is being offered here for the first time ever. There is a date stamp on the back from 1953 which is an incredible footprint that secures this as a Type 1 from PSA! This is his finest image we have ever handled and it grades almost perfect.
