Granville "Granny" Hamner was an all-star for the Philadelphia Phillies and a popular figure in the teams history. What is not widely known about the star is that he had a brother named Garvin who came up about the same time to the Phillies making for a cool human interest story. Few if any images exist of Garvin as he only played for a short time in 1945 before being sent back to the minors. This rare 1945 photograph is the only one we have ever seen of the duo together as they were making their debut for the Phillies. Issued by the International News and stamped on the back with the date as well, this presents perfectly and grades a 10/10!
