1928 Photograph of Ty Cobb from the Philadelphia Athletics in uniform with the Osaka team of Japan as part of his goodwill trip to the island to play the final baseball games of his career. He had retired from the big leagues just weeks earlier and this would be the last time he suited up as an active player. He is pictured with Seattle baseball icon Dan Dugdale as well as business manager Frank Ploof. This is from the archives of Underwood and Underwood and it is the only original image of Cobb from this trip to Japan that we have ever seen. There is a bit of creasing to the image but overall it presents really well. Offered here for the first time ever.
