Although Charlie Chaplin gets most of the credit for being the first to lampoon Adolph Hitler on the big screen in his film "The Great Dictator", it was actually the Three Stooges who did it first. Their 1940 film "You Nazty Spy" is a work of comedic genius and is the first to openly poke the bear of Hitler to an international audience. The offered photograph is from one of their films that followed the theme and continued to mock Hitler and the Nazis "High as a Kite." The image shows all three members of the group wearing Nazi armbands and military uniforms while giving the fascist salute to a photograph of Hitler. Taken at the absolute height of WWII, this is a great image in nice shape and despite being a restrike from about the 1960's, it is a dark room masterpiece of Hollywood photography.
