1915 Vintage head to toe photograph of Alex Wilson who was the captain of the Yale football team and one of the best players in the nation. A few years later he signed up for WWI like most of the athletes of his era and was tragically killed in the Argonne Forrest in 1918. One of the few top athletes to lose their life in WWI, this is one of his greatest images ever taken and he is an underrated figure in the history of football. Issued by Underwood and Underwood and stamped on the back with a full paper caption as well, this is the only image of Alex Wilson we have ever offered and it presents well with note to editorial pinholes.
