1921 Photograph from the first ever New York Yankees World Series and showing the superstar Babe Ruth signing a baseball for a noteworthy fan (Irving Cobb) before the start of the fifth game. An early image of Ruth signing a baseball and it captures him from the first ever time that the New York Yankees were ever in a World Series. Issued by Underwood and Underwood and stamped on the back with a full paper caption as well, this is the only example of this important and beautiful photograph we have ever seen. There is one very tiny rip at the top right which does not affect Ruth at all and one tiny imperfection just to the left of Ruth's shoulder that appears to be a miniscule spot of paper loss that was colored in by a newspaper editor for publication. Overall the photo looks better than the technical grade and it presents wonderfully!
