The pinnacle event in the life of Charlie Chaplin was the Oscars of 1972. He was exiled by America and refused to return for decades, but was finally invited back for an honorary award in 1972 at the Academy Awards. He was the star of the show and when he was introduced, he was given a 12 minute long standing ovation. There were social and political overtones that permeated the event and he was the star from the moment he arrived. Here Chaplin poses on the red carpet with his wife, Oona O'Neal, and strikes a comedic pose with one of his famous hats. Photo was taken by famous photographer Oscar Abolafia and comes from his estate. Offered here for the first time ever, this is a double weight masterpiece of photography that is from one of the best to do it during the 1960's-1970's. Abolafia was published in countless magazines and had shows of his works throughout the World!
