Large photograph from October 1, 1947 and capturing an intense moment during the second game of the World Series between the Dodgers and Yankees. Of particular note is the presence of Jackie Robinson at first base in his first World Series and by defacto, the first for a black ballplayer as well. The photo was issued by the Associated Press and it has a large paper caption that also identifies Robinson by name. There is some wear to the photo with light creasing from news-room handling, but overall it presents well for the large size.
