One of the most stories teams of all time is 1914 "Miracle Braves" and one of their best hitters was first baseman Charles "Butch" Schmidt. On a team that was notoriously light on hitting, Schmidt was second on the team with a lofty .285 average and also second in RBI for the season. The offered image is a dated 1914 action photograph and stamped on the back from early in the season. A unique new discovery that captures Schmidt standing with bat in hand and ready for action, this is a photograph that is likely unique and certainly is the only example we know of. There are a few light pinholes from editorial use and some corner chipping from age but the photo looks nice for the technical grade.
