Quite possibly the most famous image of Hall of Famer Jackie Robinson ever taken, this is a stunning batting photo from about 1949 that depicts the young star batting at Ebbets Field. While this is a restrike that has the name of Robinson embedded into the negative to create a souvenir style photograph or premium photograph (like a baseball card) it is in fact a period example of the famous Bowman card image for a collector who does not want to spend $10,000 for a Type 1. This would be a Type 3 (Vintage 3) meaning it is completely original to the early 1950's in every way and a vintage photograph, but done from a copy negative so that the "signature" could be embedded into the photograph. Despite some wear from age and a small piece of tape on the back that reinforced a crease, the image presents beautifully.
