Opening day 1928 was not only the first game in Braves uniform for Rogers Hornsby, but it pitted him against the team he just left, the New York Giants. A savvy photographer from Fotograms to ok the opportunity to capture Hornsby in his new uniform but also inviting his replacement from the Giants, Andy Cohen, into the frame for a symbolic and beautiful work of baseball history. This is the only example of this image we have ever seen and it presents beautifully in great shape overall. Hornsby is one of the most underrated Hall of Famers and this is one of his best images we have handled from the height of his career.
