Among the saddest tales of potential in sports history is that of Chick Corgan. He was a standout at the University of Arkansas in both baseball and football and chose to play both at the professional level. He was an infielder for the Brooklyn Dodgers and a standout for several early NFL teams including the New York Giants. He reported to spring training in 1928 but felt ill. He thought it was just stomach aches but in fact he had cancer and would die just a few months later. This is the only image of Corgan we have ever seen in any form and this is a crystal clear beauty.
