In 1916 William G. "Billy" Martin was at spring training with the New York Giants and hoping to land on a big league club. In 1914 he played a total of three games with the World Champion Boston Braves and as such, cemented his place in history as not only a member of that iconic team, but the RAREST member of the team to find quality images of. In fact, not a single image of Martin has ever surfaced in the hobby, until now! Issued by the International News and stamped on the back, the photo is s clear and bold work of baseball art capturing the impossibly rare Martin as he crouched down to field a ball in uniform. Offered here individually for the first time ever, this is an incredibly rare piece of Braves and baseball history!
