1915 Completely vintage and extremely rare photograph of the National League Champion Philadelphia Phillies in full uniform at the ballpark. Led by Hall of Famer Grover Cleveland Alexander, this was one of the best teams of the era, but they were pitted against one of the other best squads of a generation in the World Series, the Red Sox, and would eventually lose the Fall Classic. The 1915 Phillies are still revered by fans of that team as one of the best assemblages of all time and anything associated with the team are tough to find. This is the only full sized photograph of the team we have ever seen, issued by Underwood and Underwood and stamped on the back with a full paper caption as well which presents beautifully with a full paper caption identifying all the players. The photo has crystal clarity and exceptional tones which more than offset the crease and pinholes from editorial use.
