Today, the Black Panther Party is looked at as a ground breaking organization that was a militant offshoot of the Civil Rights Movement. Back in 1969, it was more closely linked to terrorist organizations as is clearly evident in this photograph as a Police Lieutenant from Jersey City holds up a list of their demands before a Senate hearing. While the subject matter is important, the sign he is holding up is a true piece of American history! Issued by the United Press and with a full paper caption on the back, the photo is in great shape!
