One of the most famous figures of the entire Russian Revolution is Lavr Kornilov who was a military leader, explorer and famous figure. The offered 1917 image is one of the only we have ever seen in the hobby and it is a stunning, head to toe profile style image taken just months before he would be killed in combat by the Bolshevik's during the Revolution. He was so hated by his opposition that the Bolshevik's found his grave, dug up his body, drug it through the streets, and burned it on a trash pile just to humiliate him! Issued by Underwood and Underwood and stamped on the back, the image has a long and detailed paper caption as well. Photo has a crease on the left side and some pinholes from editorial use, but otherwise it presents pretty well!
