1902 Photograph of Madame Curie and her husband Pierre and taken just about the time they made their legendary discovery of Radium. We feel this is a 1910's restrike based on the paper and gelatin used, but we see a pencil notation of 1924 on the back from when it was published, so the photo is likely only about 10-20 years after the original was taken and it is importantly off the original glass plate! Images of Pierre, who died young, are extremely rare and this is one of the only examples we have ever offered. Condition and quality are both outstanding.
