While not the most remembered today, the finest and most influential of all early Hollywood film producers was Ernst Lubitsch. His techniques and style were imitated by everyone and he was known for being able to get more out of his actors and budget than anyone else. Images of Lubitsch are extremely rare with this being perhaps the finest we have handled showing the director on set and looking cocky smoking a huge cigar. A true relic from the earliest days of silent film picturing one of the most influential pioneers of all time, the photo is crystal clear and bold with a small edge chip and an even smaller spot of something stuck to the photo on his suit coat area (could be removed we think).
