1947 Action photograph of a boxer named Sam Baroudi who killed his challenger Newton Smith with this blow to the jaw. Baroudi would feel terrible about the incident but fought on anyway, landing a bout in 1948 with Ezzard Charles. In one of the most ironic twists in boxing history, Charles would land a massive blow on Baroudi and kill him! An incredible piece of tragic boxing history, this is the only image from the Baroudi v. Smith fight we have ever seen and it presents beautifully with a couple light creases on the right border are. Issued by the International News and stamped on the back with a full paper caption as well.
