1910 Extremely rare photograph of early black boxing pioneer, Bob Armstrong, as he looked on as his friend and sparring partner Jim Jeffries, trained in Reno before his bout with Jack Johnson. Armstrong was more than just a sparring partner for Jeffries, he had fought Johnson in the past and was a sort of scout for Jeffries as well. A rare image of one of the most underrated and important early black fighters of all time. The photo has a small rip on the lower left but otherwise it presents really well.
