1909 Original photograph of William Howard Taft as he started an American tradition by attending a major league game between the Red Sox and Senators in Washington. The next season he would start the tradition of throwing out the first pitch. This is the only known original example of this photograph we have ever seen in any form and it is completely vintage. One of the most important pieces of baseball history we have ever handled, this captures Taft sitting in his seat and surrounded by other members of his Presidency. There is a copyright on the front by the famous Clinedinst photo studio of Washington DC and the back carries a large paper caption as well. The image is completely vintage and crystal clear with pinholes at the corners from editorial use being the only flaws.
