1887 Photograph of the Bloomington Reds featuring a black mascot and a young 17 year old pitcher named Clark Griffith (back row with X over him) who would become one of the biggest names in baseball. A star pitcher for two decades after this image was taken, he would then become a manager and team owner. Issued in 1924 when Griffith was leading the Senators to a World Series title, the image (while struck 37 years after the original was taken) is a 100 year old remnant of one of the most important figures in baseball during the 19th century and early 20th century. Photo has some creasing and handling wear but overall it is a really nice looking example that is one of the only ones to have survived!
