Large c. 1956 studio quality portrait photograph of Mickey Mantle from the New York Yankees. Crystal clear and bold, this is a contact print from a full 8x10 negative which has resulted in a masterpiece of photography that is among the greatest ever taken of Mantle. There is a crease on the left side and a small spot of his cheek (which could be easily cleaned or restored), but the image quality more than compensates for these flaws. This is possibly a unique survivor and is at the very least, the only known example of this photograph in the hobby that we are aware of.
