1949 Large photograph of Jackie Robinson, baseball pioneer and Civil Rights icon, as he stood in a studio setting for formal photographs to be used in the upcoming film "The Jackie Robinson Story." A powerful piece of imagery, the is the first photograph of Robinson that pictures him from a low angle to look more powerful, a pose usually reserved for whites only, and offered here for the first time ever, fresh out of a newspaper archive. Both the condition and quality are outstanding and it is encapsulated by PSA as a Type 1. For our money, this is one of the top five images of Robinson ever taken!
