When Arlie Tarbert hit the Red Sox in 1927, he was supposed to be a superstar. He had set the college baseball world on fire at Ohio State, and also played some outstanding basketball there as well. He only played a couple of years in the big leagues though and died young in 1946, making images (and autographs if you could ever find one) exceedingly rare! The offered original batting photograph is the first and only image of Tarbert we have ever seen and it presents beautifully!
