Large 1926 photograph of Ray Cannon, the lawyer for several of the 1919 Chicago Black Sox players in their continued fight against Judge Kennesaw Mountain Landis and major league baseball. Cannon asserts that in 1917 several members of the Detroit Tigers threw games and he had evidence, but claims Landis refused to investigate the incidents. The back paper caption mentions Happy Felsch, Buck Weaver, and Swede Risberg by name! A cool piece of Black Sox history that was issued by Wide World Photos and stamped on the back with a full paper caption as well. Photo has some pinholes from editorial use and a small rip off the upper right corner, but it looks much better than the technical grade. Images of Cannon are rare and this is one of the best out there!
