1924 Rare and somewhat early image of Hall of Famer Branch Rickey as he relaxes at the ballpark and announces that he will keep the sabbath day holy and refuse to manage on Sundays. He is pictured with his field leader, Burt Shotton, who would take the reigns on those occasions and would also become the manager of the Dodgers in 1947 when Rickey again called on him to manage the club during Jackie Robinson's first season. Issued by Underwood and Underwood and stamped on the back with a paper caption as well. Photo has some pinholes from editorial use but it presents well otherwise.
