Large c. 1952 studio photograph of Earl Lloyd, the first black player in the NBA, and posed in uniform. No sport has been impacted by integration as much as basketball and this captures the first to do it. Images of Lloyd are tough to find with this being the only vintage example that we have ever seen! Photo had a vintage autograph that was removed with water only and can not be seen unless tilted to the light and closely examined, and it presents beautifully. One of the most significant basketball images we have ever handled and it displays well with some light creasing at the bottom left corner area.
