The battle for Peleliu was horrible. Thousands died on both sides, the weather was awful and it all seemed for nothing at the end of the day. These factors prompted one soldier to have a complete breakdown, sitting in the mud and weeping over the situation he found himself in. Taken by noted war photographer Stanley Troutman and issued through Acme, this is the only original example of this important 1944 war photograph we have ever seen and it is being offered here for the first time ever, fresh out of a newspaper archive. Condition and quality are outstanding and this could be hanging in a museum or gallery!
