Finding images of Bart Giamatti are rare as he died young in 1989 of a heart attack. Finding images of him as Baseball Commissioner (a post he held for less than a year) are almost impossible! The offered photograph was taken during his one and only Hall of Fame induction at Cooperstown, the summer of 1989. Giamatti would die in September, just a few months after this image was taken. A rare photograph in great condition with exceptional clarity, this is a unique new discovery that is both stamped by the photographer, Richard Piling, on the back and signed by him in beautiful ink on the front. This is perhaps the finest image of Giamatti we have ever handled.
