Walter Johnson was absolutely dedicated to his beloved wife Hazel and he took the untimely passing of his wife especially hard. He was left a widower with several children when she died of heatstroke and was so heartbroken that he is reported to have even attempted suicide. Pictured in this poignant photograph is the whole Johnson clan sharing a moment of extreme grief by her graveside during the funeral services with Johnson overcome with emotion. Overall very nice condition with appropriate paper label on back from Underwood and Underwood. A dramatic image that is in great shape.
