Jack McCallister was a fine minor league player, turned coach for the Cleveland Indians during the late teens and early twenties. He stepped in after the 1926 season and filled in for the banished Tris Speaker and became one of the most obscure managers of the twentieth century. The offered photograph comes from approximately 1922 and was taken during spring training in Dallas. This is one of the only images of McCallister in uniform we have ever seen in any form.
