The 1923 season was the high water mark for Babe Ruth as he finally culminated his tenure with the New York Yankees by being crowned a world champion. It was the first time in the history of the franchise that they had won the fall classic, and it seemed like it was just the start of something bigger! The 1924 season opened on the road at Fenway Park in Boston and Ruth put on a show for the fans before the game by blasting home runs at the ballpark that he once dominated as a youngster! The offered batting photograph from Wide World Photos shows Ruth taking some mighty hacks and watching the ball sail away. Crystal clear and bold, the photo presents beautifully with two light corner creases and two pinholes, so small they are invisible in the background unless you hold the photo up to a light source. There is some light artistic tracing of Ruth's figure from editorial use, but this only adds to the uniqueness of the piece.
