Rare and important dated 1917 photograph of the Winter Palace in Russia and taken while revolution was raging outside it's walls. The royal family was already hiding out and in jeopardy, but nobody could have seen the horrors that awaited them the next year (1918). Issued by the Central Press Service and stamped on the back with a full paper caption as well, the image when put into proper context, is an incredible piece of Russian history, dated while the royal family was still alive and wondering about their future!
