Perhaps nobody has attained more fame with so few images taken of them than Al Capone did. He shunned the public eye and stayed far away from photographers and the police while essentially running the city of Chicago. The offered image is a candid style masterpiece from 1930, taken with Capone on the streets of Chicago at the height of his reign! The VAST majority of Capone images were taken in 1931 when he was in court and could not control the photographers and this is one of perhaps 5 we have ever sold of him in a candid setting as a free man! Issued by Pacific and Atlantic and stamped on the back with a full paper caption, this is in pretty nice shape with note to some editorial work done by artists at a newspaper archive for publication.
