1960's Vintage photograph of Willie O'Ree, the first black player in the history of the NHL. Images of O'Ree are extremely rare with this being the only example we have ever handled of the player alone with all others being Bruins team photographs. The image is clear and bold. O'Ree is an extremely undervalued pioneer in the sports world with images of him being virtually impossible to find. This is a bit of a weird image as O'Ree had signed with the Buckaroos in the mid 1960's but never actually played with the club and instead jumped to another team! This is the closest thing to a hockey card that O'Ree has and it grades essentially perfect. An important piece of hockey history being offered here for the first time ever!
