The name Heisman is the most iconic in all of football. The greatest trophy in the sport in named after him, but the man himself was rarely photographed. The offered image from 1922 shows the legend barking orders through a megaphone to his players at the University of Pennsylvania. Stamped on the back by the Keystone View Company and with a large paper caption as well, this is one of only a few images of Heisman we have ever handled and it is being offered here for the first time ever fresh out of a newspaper archive. Photo has some creasing and pinholes from editorial use but the quality is nice.
