Rare 1920 photograph of early women's golf superstar Alexa Sterling as she drives off the tee. Silver gelatin photograph has a paper caption on the back describing the action and notes she was in Cleveland to defend her championship. Sterling was a major draw and was to women's golf at the time what Bobby Jones was to men's golf (the two even toured together throughout World War I). This is the only example of this image we have ever seen and it presents well with note to a crease and some pinholes from editorial use. Issued by Underwood and Underwood and stamped on the back.
