Before Joe DiMaggio came to the Yankees from California, there was another golden boy from the PCL. Frank Crosetti put up monster seasons of .334 and .343 in 1930 and 1931 before he was sold to the Yankees before the start of the 1932 season. Much was expected and although he never lived up to the hype, he was a really good player at a tough position. The offered 1931 batting photo captures him at the height of his fame in California and is among his greatest photographs ever offered.
