Everett Scott was one of the most popular and celebrated players in the game when this photo was taken. He had just set the record as baseball's iron man in 1925 having played in 1307 consecutive games, a record that was made especially poignant in the rough early days of the game. On the day this streak was broken however, a youngster named Lou Gehrig was already working on breaking it! Scott was a fine player no matter how many games he played, handling shortstop duties for SIX teams that made the World Series in his 13 years in the game. An impressive silver gelatin photograph from the year the Senators made the World Series and in full uniform, this is one of the best we have offered with some wear to the bottom corners.
